Founder & Portfolio Manager
Gregg S. Fisher is a recognized pioneer in the field of investment science, with over 30 years of experience in investment and portfolio management.
Gregg is highly regarded for his innovations in using data analysis and systematic strategies to inform investment decisions. In 1993, he founded the investment advisory firm Gerstein Fisher, where he first developed and deployed a multi-factor investing strategy based on academic and proprietary research. He grew Gerstein Fisher to $5 billion of assets under management and advisement before selling it to People’s United Bank. After the sale, Gregg served as Head of Research and Portfolio Strategy for the bank’s investment division, while remaining Portfolio Manager of the firm's global strategies and funds.
In 2018, Gregg founded Quent Capital to invest in global innovation. At Quent, Gregg combines his expertise in quantitative analysis and research with his entrepreneurial knowledge to invest in small cap stocks globally and to manage globally diversified portfolios informed by the disruptive themes transforming our business landscape.
Gregg is the author of notable financial academic research and is passionate about leveraging his extensive network of respected thought leaders and academics as an extension of Quent’s proprietary research. He also founded the Quent Research Collaborative within the University of Buffalo’s School of Management to promote interdisciplinary research around investing. In 2018, he joined UB’s Board of Trustees and is now the Chair of its billion-dollar endowment. He serves on the Q Group program committee and is currently on the advisory board for Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies and the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
